Safe, Property-First Tree Care & Tree Removal

When a tree starts leaning toward the house, overgrown branches scrape the roof, or a stump is taking over the garden, you do not want guesswork. You want experienced professionals who can assess the tree, explain the options clearly, and keep your property safe from the first consultation to the final cleanup.

Al Miley & Associates provides professional tree services across Mississauga, Toronto, and the GTA. With more than 50 years of arboriculture experience, ISA certified arborists, internationally recognized expertise, the GTA’s only Government Certified Master Arborist, $5M public liability insurance, and full WSIB coverage, our team brings the depth homeowners and commercial property managers need when the job carries real risk.

We help with tree removal, pruning, tree trimming, arborist reports, stump removal and grinding, tree planting, cabling, disease assessment, nutrient care, and other tree care services. Every recommendation starts with the same question: what is the safest, healthiest, and most practical solution for this property?

Built Around Mississauga Homes, Lots, and Parks

Tree care in Mississauga is not the same from one neighbourhood to the next. Mature lots in Mineola, Lorne Park, Port Credit, and Lakeview often have large maples, oaks, spruces, cedars, and Manitoba maples growing close to fences, driveways, garages, and neighbour boundaries. Streetsville and Meadowvale properties may have older backyard trees with heavy limbs over patios or sheds.

That local context matters. A healthy Mississauga tree can be a major part of a property’s beauty, privacy, shade, and foundation planting. A declining tree can create safety hazards, falling branches, roof damage, drainage issues, and fear every time high winds move through the community.

Our arborists assess structure, health, disease signs, soil conditions, location, canopy weight, and the surrounding landscape before recommending removal or treating the issue with pruning, cabling, nutrients, or ongoing care.

For residential customers, we focus on protecting the home, garden, fence, lawn, and nearby landscaping. For commercial property owners, condo managers, schools, churches, and industrial sites, we plan the work around access, notice requirements, pedestrian safety, parking, waste handling, and business continuity.

Tree Service

What We Can Help With

Here is a wide range of tree services we provide across Mississauga and the GTA:

  • Tree removal when a tree is dead, unstable, diseased beyond recovery, storm-damaged, or creating an unacceptable property risk.

  • Tree pruning and tree trimming to remove deadwood, reduce overgrown branches, improve clearance, protect roofs and walkways, and support long-term health.

  • Arborist reports for permits, construction, insurance, property transactions, disputes, and tree risk documentation.

  • Stump grinding and stump removal when an old stump is blocking landscaping, attracting pests, creating a trip hazard, or preventing new planting.

  • Tree planting with species, location, soil, light, and long-term size in mind.

  • Cabling and structural support, where a valuable tree may be preserved with the right professional intervention.

  • Tree health care, including disease review, root-zone care, nutrient support, and recommendations for healthy growth.

Not every tree should come down. Sometimes, pruning, soil improvement, or careful monitoring is the better answer. Additionally, removing a tree without checking permit rules can create problems for the property owner. Our job is to give complete, professional guidance before anyone starts cutting.

Our Process From First Call to Cleanup

From the first conversation to the final cleanup, our team keeps the process simple, organized, and focused on protecting your property.

  1. Initial Consultation and Site Details
We begin by learning what you are seeing, such as broken branches, decay, leaning, storm damage, root lifting, dead sections, blocked light, construction plans, or permit concerns. If the situation is urgent, we prioritize safety and help determine whether immediate action is needed.

  2. Arborist Assessment and Recommendation
An arborist reviews the tree’s health, species, trunk diameter, canopy spread, defects, cavities, disease signs, pest activity, soil conditions, nearby structures, access, and whether permits may be required. If an arborist report is needed, we explain what it should include and how it supports a City of Mississauga request.

  3. Professional Work and Cleanup
Before the job starts, you receive a clear scope of work, including pruning specifications, removal method, equipment access, stump grinding depth, cleanup expectations, waste removal, and property protection steps. On the day of the appointment, our crew sets up the work zone, performs the tree care service, manages branches and debris, and leaves the location clean.

We do not rely on promises without planning. Safe tree work comes from training, equipment, experience, and communication.

Permits, Reports, and City Requirements

Mississauga has rules for private and public trees. The City states that a permit is required to remove one or more private property trees that are 15 cm, or 6 inches, or greater in diameter, including dead or dying trees. Arborist reports are required for development and construction projects, though not for dead trees. The City also notes that a complete application may take 30 business days to review.

Permit fees and replacement tree requirements can apply. The City currently lists a base permit fee of $399.77 including HST, with an additional fee for each additional healthy tree, and replacement planting requirements based on trunk diameter. Because rules and fees can change, we always recommend checking the current City page or asking our team during consultation.

This is one of the reasons certified arborists matter. A proper report can document species, size, condition, risk, location, recommended action, and replacement planning. It can also reduce confusion if the tree is close to a shared fence line, a public boulevard, construction work, or a neighbour’s property.
